Jip Oudes (born 1969). Jip grew up in Alkmaar. After studying Town and Country Planning at the University of Amsterdam, he worked for six years in a management position at Transavia. He has been working as an estate agent for several years now and, since 2006, he has been an NVM certified estate agent/valuer. He works out at the gym 3 to 4 times a week and has a season ticket for Ajax, but his heart belongs to AZ Alkmaar.
My area
De Pijp. And, above all, the terrace of the Coffee Company on Van Der Helststraat. I can sit there on a Saturday afternoon and all my friends will wander past at some point. On those occasions, the newspaper remains unread!
My favourite restaurant/bar
Changes almost from week to week. Bars on the Heinekenplein and the Negen Straatjes (Nine Streets). And I can always get a quick and tasty bite at Café De Pijp.
My sources of information
In the morning, nrc.next; in the evening, Het Parool. Plus good old Teletext.
My experience of the Dokter Estate Agency
Clients tend to look at things through rose-tinted spectacles. We guide them through this and point out specific drawbacks of the property, structural defects or other things that can make a property more difficult to sell. This is our great added value.
My most memorable sale

He literally said to me: 'I'm not going to throw that money into a bottomless pit in Amsterdam, while I can live here like a king on €2,000 a month.' All the reminders, writs, notices of default and red envelopes remained unopened in a big pile. Just before the bank was about to foreclose, I sold his apartment and the bank was stuck with a debt of more than €40,000. The gentleman in question cannot return to the Netherlands, but if you're living like a king in Brazil, I suppose you might not want to...
